Mayme A. (Mary) Haas, age 99, formerly of Haas Road, Taus, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2007, surrounded by her family.
Mayme was born on March 12, 1908, in Brillion, daughter of the late Frank and Barbara (Kalcik) Hlavachek. On Nov. 30, 1933, she married Edward J. Haas in Reedsville. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1989. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville, and a longtime member of the Rosary Society. Mayme was a past member of the Manitowoc County Homemakers, Thrifty Homemakers of Kellnersville, Ambitious Homemakers of Taus, a past representative on the Committee of Aging of Manitowoc County, and a past member of the Branch, Whitelaw and Maribel Senior Citizens. The land she and Ed worked was a source of pride for her. She was an avid gardener and
prided herself on having traveled 48 of the 50 United States. Needlework and card playing were her favorite pastimes.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Ed; one daughter-in-law: Kathy Haas; two sons-in-law: Jim Stein and John O'Connor; four sisters and their spouses; six brothers and their spouses; two brothers-in-law and their spouses;
five sisters-in-law and their spouses.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, July 7, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. The Rev. Rallen Stencil will officiate the Mass
of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at noon.
