Melba Jean Burt, 83, of Poulsbo died June 5, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Feb. 26, 1916, in Murray, Utah, to Louis and Bertha (Tripp) McCleary. She was raised and educated in Bremerton, graduating from Bremerton High School in 1934.
She married Gilbert I. Burt on Oct. 14, 1934, in Port Orchard. He died June 6, 1999, at home. The couple had been married 64 years.
Mrs. Burt was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Sally Forcier of Poulsbo and Patricia Burt of Silverdale; a sister, Norma J. Pappas of Bremerton; seven grandchildren, Louis Lashlee, Jon Forcier, Paul Forcier, Mathieu Forcier, Jody Lashlee, Melody Lashlee and Victoria Lashlee; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Private interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
