Col. Jonathan Warner was a prominent merchant in Portsmouth,New Hampshire. He was the son of Daniel and Sarah (Hill) Warner. Jonathan married three times: Mary Nelson in 1748,to which they had a daughter,Polly, Mrs Mary Macphaedris Osborne in 1760, and in 1781,Jonathan married Elizabeth Pitts of Boston. In 1776, Col Jonathan Warner became Justice of the Peace. He was probably one of the richest men in Portsmouth having several merchant ships that sailed the world.
