Absalom Jones was born about 1799. His father Joseph b1776 was 22 and his mother Mary Needham Jones was 26. It appears that he served in the War of 1812 in the 49th Regiment, the regiment commanded early in the War by Isaak Brock. He had three sons and three daughters with Mary 'Moore' Jones between 1826 and 1850. The 1881 Canadian Census lists him as still living at the age of 82 years. He died about 1882 in Stoney Creek, Canada, at the age of 83.
