James T. Bryant
1922 - 2005
James T. Bryant, 83, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005, in Covington.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Covington. The Rev.
Kerry Horn will officiate. Burial: Covington Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8
p.m. Friday at the Cleburne Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Gene Bryant, Jason Bryant, Jeremy Bryant, Cody Bryant,
James Bryant and Todd Colbert. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Kendall,
Bill Ramsey, John Waites, Wayne Reeves, Roger Jones and Jason Moore.
Mr. Bryant was born Feb. 18, 1922, in Covington to A.M. and Lydia Anderson
Bryant. He married Billye Hunt on Dec. 27, 1943, in Cleburne.
Mr. Bryant worked for Safeway as a store manager and later retired as a
department manager from Montgomery-Ward's. He was a deacon in First
Baptist
Church of Covington, where he taught Sunday school. He loved people and
had
a great sense of humor.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Covington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Bryant and
Norris
T. Bryant; and one sister, Alta Mae Ringner.
Survivors: His wife, Billye Bryant of Covington; sons, Terry Bryant and
wife, Janet, Charles Bryant and wife, Mary Lynn, and Timothy W. Bryant,
all
of Covington; sister, Ozella Scales of St. Louis, Mo.; seven
grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
