Requiem high mass for Mrs. Mary Dougherty Kennedy, 84, of 71 Eighteenth ave., S., will be sung at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the Cathedral of the Incarnation. Mrs. Kennedy died at her home Wednesday night after an illness of three weeks. A native of Nashville, Mrs. Kennedy was a daughter of Patrick and Maria Dougherty, pioneer settlers of Nashville. Her father was one of the officials in charge of the construction of the state capitol building, which was completed in 1859. Mrs. Kennedy was educated at the former St. Bernard’s academy, located near St. Mary’s church. Approximately 50 years ago she was married to David Campbell Kennedy, and employee of the N. C. & St. L. Railway, who died about 20 years ago. Mrs. Kennedy was a communicant of the Cathedral of the Incarnation. She leaves three daughters, Miss Anne Mae Kennedy and Mrs. W. Gath Jones of Nashville, and Mrs. Charlton Milam of Dallas, Texas; a son, John George Kennedy of Miami, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Ellen Carroll of Nashville; and seven grandchildren.
