"Paul Cook, 39, was killed in the garage at his Salem home on Friday evening, when the automobile he was working on slipped off a bumper jack, crushing his skull. His body was discovered by his wife when she went to the garage to see why he had not returned to the house. He had been installing new shock absorbers on the car. Born in Green township, Dec. 10, 1919, he was a son of Emmor and Vada Cooke Cook, and was an employee of the Columbiana Pump Co. Mr. Cook was a veteran of World War II, serving in Iceland, and was a member of the Greenford Lutheran church and Greenford grange. Surviving are his wife, the former Aileen Geist, whom he married Oct. 5, 1947; his parents; two sons, Donald and Wayne; three sisters, Mrs. Keith McDonald of Salem, Mrs. Gail Bennett of Lisbon and Miss Ethel Cook of Greenford; and four brothers, Hubert and Kenneth of Green township; Dale of Berlin Center and Herbert of Patmos. Funeral services, with Rev. Harold Winn, pastor of the First Friends church officiating, were held Monday afternoon at the Arbaugh-Pearce Funeral Home, and burial made in Forest Lawn cemetery, Boardman township."
