July 11, 1879, Ontario Co. Journal:
In this village, July 2d, 1879, Jacob Neu, aged 52 years.
Auburnian, July 12, 1879
The jury in the Jacob Neu murder and suicide case at Canandaigua have found that Barbara Neu came to her death by a blow on the head inflicted with a chopping axe in the hands of her husband, Jacob Neu, while he was under the influence of intoxicating liquor; and also "that Jacob Neu came to his death by cutting his throat with a razor, while laboring under an attack of temporary insanity."
I couldn't find where either Jacob or Barbara are buried, so I am placing them here where their daughter is buried.
