Roger McDonald was born about 1795. He was married to Abigail who died Dec. 13, 1847.

Roger “may” have been born elsewhere as there is a Passenger list for a Roger McDonald that arrived on June 21, 1820 at Philadelphia, PA from St. John’s Ireland on the ship “George” at age 25, born about 1795. With him appears to be a B McDonald age 68, and a F. McDonald age 7. There is also a record of Naturalizations for Philadelphia, PA listed for Roger McDonald June 19, 1823, that could have been him? He hasn't been found yet in the 1820 census.

Roger was listed in the Philadelphia Savings Fund Society on August 30, 1827. Abigail McDonald was listed a member on July 14, 1828.

1830 Chestnut Ward, Philadelphia, PA in Roger McDonald had 10 people in the household, 1 male 20-29, 2 males 30-39 (Roger b 1790-1800), 3 females under 5, 1 female 5-9, 1 female 15-19, and 2 females 20-29 (Abigail born 1801-1810).

1840 South Mulberry Ward, Philadelphia, Rodger McDonald with 1 male under 5, 2 males 10-14, 1 male 50-59 (Roger 1781-1790), 1 female under 5, 1 female 10-14, 1 female 30-39 (Abigail b 1801-1810)

According to the Dr.'s Death Certificate, Roger McDonald died on October 6, 1845 at 50 years old, born about 1795, of Apoplexy. He was buried at St. John's Cemetery, Vault 23, Philadelphia, PA along with several children and grandchildren.

His wife is also buried there. The other relations in the Vault are the Faulkner's.
