Elmer F. Schad, 37, of Hilbert, died early Sunday afternoon at his home following a lingering illness.
He was born Aug. 11, 1910, near St. Nazianz, and was married to Miss Madeline Mertz at Rantoul on Nov 26, 1940. The couple made their home in Hilbert for the past two and one-half years.
Mr. Schad was a vacuum cleaner dealer in Hilbert. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church at Rantoul and was affiliated with the Men’s Club of the parish.
Survivors are his widow; one son, Elmer Leroy; two daughters, Shirley Ann and Judith May; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schad, Valders; one brother, Robert, Mishicot, Wis., and one sister, Mrs. Alex Bonde, Valders.
Funeral services will be held at the Techtmen Funeral home in Hilbert and at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul. Interment will be made in the parish cemetery.
