The only surviving child of Paul Pysher & Abby Ann Kindt Pysher Andrews. Paul enlisted in the U.S. Civil War and died at Hilton Head, South Carolina. His name is listed as Powell Pisher(which is a variation of the Pysher name seen in censuses) but his pension card, lists Paul Pisher alias Powell Pisher. The death notices for two other children of Paul & Abby Ann Pysher list their father as deceased when they died which would be correct as he died in July 1863 and they died later in the year after him. Their death notices are listed in each of their memorials. The cemetery records list 1858 as year of birth but documentation provided to me show a birth date of November 3, 1861 in Plainfield Township.

Abby Ann's obituary lists a surviving daughter, Mrs. Aaron Hartley of Phillipsburg NJ. Listed below are the obituaries I have found for Sarah Hartley, wife of Aaron plus a paragraph from her mother, Abby Ann Andrews's obituary listing her as her daughter. I have been given information on Sarah from another member, Peggy Andrews Shafer, from Powell's pension records when the family applied for a pension for Sarah from Powell's service. These records list her birth information and the marriage information of Paul/Powell & Abby Ann.

Belvidere Apollo, Dated 1.16.1913 page 4 col. 4:
Mrs. Sarah Hartley
Wife of Aaron Hartley, died Monday at her home in Phillipsburg, from a complication of ailments. She was fifty six years old and besides her husband is survived by the following children: William, Russell, Edward, Mrs. Tillie Ruple, Mrs. Bertha Osborne, and Miss Abbie A. Hartley, all of Phillipsburg, and four step-brothers, all of Easton. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Easton Express, Dated 1.14.1913 page 8:
Mrs. Aaron Hartley
Sarah, wife of Aaron Hartley died yesterday at her home, 235 Cedar Street of a complication of ailments, aged 56 years. She leaves her husband and these children: Willard, Edward, Rusell, and Abbie Hartley, Mrs. Tillie Ruple and Mrs. Bertha Osborne of Phillipsburg. She also leaves four step brothers, Bernard, Milton, John and Edgar Andrews, of Easton. The deceased was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Easton Express, Dated 1.17.1913 page 8:

Rev. G.M. Wilkins, rector of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon conducted services over the remains of Mrs. Aaron Hartley, 235 Cedar Street. The interment was made in the Phillipsburg Cemetery.

Easton Express, Dated 9.1.1910, page 5:
Mrs Abby Ann Andrews (Paragraph 2 only)
Mrs. Andrews is survived by four sons and one daughter-Barnet Andrews and Milton Andrews, residing at home; John Andrews and Edgar Andrews of Easton, and Mrs. Aaron Hartley, of Phillipsburg. She is also survived by one brother, Jonas F. Kindt of Stockertown, and by thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

The Andrews siblings would actually have been half brothers not step brothers but I am not sure that the person writing the obituary understood their relationship.

Death Certificate from Trenton NJ lists her father as John Pisher and mother as Abby A. Kint and with no birth date and listed born in Pennsylvania.

A special thank you to Peggy Andrews Shafer, member 47623120 for her help and for providing me with information on Paul/Powell, Abby & Sarah Pysher.
