John Hollis Culverhouse

John Hollis Culverhouse, 93, passed away on Thursday, August 14 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 18 at 11 a.m. at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street with the Rev. Joe McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Sunday, August 17 from 3 until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Martha Bowman Methodist Church, 500 Bass Road, Macon, 31210 or the donor's favorite charity.

John was born on May 12, 1921 in Macon to the late John H. Culverhouse Sr. and Eloise Davis Culverhouse. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann E. Culverhouse and his brother, Lovick P. Culverhouse. John is a life long resident of Macon, attending Lanier High School and retired from Georgia Power, Plant Scherer after over 45 years of service, where he was affectionately known as "Mr. C". John also served this country in World War II in Army Company B 784th Military Police Battalion. In addition to his membership at Martha Bowman Church, he was also an active member of the Howard Community Club and Heart of Georgia Ambassadors.

John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Faye Culverhouse; two daughters, Debbie (Harry) Davis and Donna (Jeff) Hopkins, four grandchildren: Bryan Davis, Jamie Davis, Luke Hopkins and Casey Belknap; and 11 great grandchildren.

Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street has charge of arrangements.
