Aldon Harold Benson of New Richmond died Tuesday, June 10 at the St. Croix Health Center, New Richmond.
He was born July 30, 1911 in Kingston Township, Meeker County, Minn. to Gust and Emma (Lindberg) Benson. He married Adeline E. Wiisanen Nov. 6, 1935 in Litchfield, Minn. She preceded him in death May 2, 2003.
Aldon lived in the Kingston area most of his life where he farmed on the family farm until retiring in 1987. He lived in Kimball, Minn. from 1987 until moving to New Richmond in 1997.
Aldon was a member of Ostmark Lutheran Church, rural Watkins, Minn. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling.
He is survived by son Gary of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter Nancy (Chuck) Magoon of New Richmond; granddaughters, Lisa (Dave) Ritter of New Richmond, Tanya (Kevin) Fairris of Cleveland, Tenn., and Angela Magoon of New Richmond; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Harry, Edwin, Claude, Raymond, Vernon, and Vangel; and sisters, Ruth and Edith.
