Mrs. Rachel Simpson, 74, widow of David Simpson and a resident of Battle Creek and Vicinity for 25 years, died at 12:55 p.m. Monday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. James (Davina) Kerr of 335 1/2 East Michigan Avenue, Battle Creek, after a illness of several weeks. Until three weeks ago Mrs. Simpson had resided in the home of another daughter, Mrs. William Ogilvie of Assyria township, Barry county.

Mrs. Simpson was born May 6, 1867, in Dundee, Scotland, and came to Battle Creek in 1916. Her husband died 46 years ago. Mrs. Simpson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Brownlee Park circle of the church.

Surviving besides Mrs. Kerr and Mrs. Ogilvie and four grandchildren, Robert Ogilvie, a flier in the Royal Canadian Air Force, William Ogilvie of Assyria township and Kenneth Kerr and Miss Ruby Kerr, both of Battle Creek; two half-brothers, Thomas Lawson of Detroit, and Alexander Lownie of Dundee, Scotland, and a half sister, Mrs. John Kidney of Dundee, Scotland.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Farley Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Hicks Cemetery.
