Hazel Poteat Silver, age 79, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital.
Born in Rutherford County on November 21, 1934, Hazel was the daughter of the late Jones Everette Poteat and Gertrude Curtis Poteat.

Preceding Mrs. Silver in death was her husband, Melvin B. Silver, who passed away December 19, 2007 and a brother David Poteat.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 2:00 pm in Westmoreland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Morrison officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at McDowell Memorial Park.
