OBITUARY Iron River Reporter March 8 1978 "Obituaries: Aldo V. Abrahamson, 66, Dies At VA Hospital"
Aldo V. Abrahamson, 66, Stambaugh Township, died at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Iron Mountain, Thursday, March 2 after being ill for a year.
Mr. Abrahamson was born November 24, 1911 in Stambaugh and had been a lifelong resident of this area. He graduated from Stambaugh High School in 1932. For a short period of time, he worked for American Motors in Kenosha, and for 15 years he worked for M.A. Hanna Mining Company. Mr. Abrahamson was a member of Pioneer Mission Church of Stambaugh Township and had served with the US Army in Greenland during World War II.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Smedlund, Iron River, and Mrs. Eino (Louise) Aho, Stambaugh Township; two brothers, Eric and Gunnard, both of Stambaugh Township; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at Grace Covenant Church Monday, March 6 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Douglas Cedarleaf, pastor, officiating.
Eldred Erickson sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied by Mrs. Bertil Magnuson, organist.
Pallbearers were Larry and Lowell Puckett, Terry Colberg, Daniel Carlson, William Heisel and Allen Goodman.
Interment was in Stambaugh Cemetery.
Brooks Funeral Home, Stambaugh Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.
