McCargar Family Line

Hattie was the daughter of Thomas McCargar and Lucy Sellick.

She was travelling with her older sister, Mary and it is believed to have attended a revival meeting conducted by the evangelist Dwight Lyman Moody.

They were on their way home when the train, the Moody and Sankey Excursion, crashed into the Farmington River near Tariffville when the bridge collapsed.
