Clarence C. Taylor of Emporia, Kansas, and formerly of Lebo died October 23, 1988, at an Emporia nursing home.

Mr. Taylor was a retired farmer. He had operated a service station at old Strawn in Coffey County in the 1920's.

The son of Zachary A. and Clara Emma Merkle Taylor, Clarence C. Taylor was born February 4, 1889, in Anderson County. He married Winnie May Williams in 1910. She died in 1919. He married Martha M. Trumpower on August 18, 1942, in Ottawa, Kansas. She died March 19, 1987. A daughter, Clara Smith, died in 1944, and a son Lloyd Taylor, died in infancy.

Mr. Taylor is survived by two sons, Loren Taylor and Glenn Taylor, both of Fort Myers, Florida; a daughter, Thelma Schlageter of Emporia; a sister, Myrtle Miller of Bloomington, Minnesota; 14 grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Four sisters and three brothers also died earlier.
Mr. Taylor was a member of the Christian Church.

Burial: Lincoln Cemetery, Lebo.
