Mrs. Malinda J. Van Fossan, 87 year old lifetime resident of Wapello Co., died at the home of Margaret Treanor, 301 N. Moore street, today at 4:45 a.m.
She was born at Dudley November 7, 1852. She had lived at Ottumwa for the last 30 years, was the last survior of a family of eight children. She was married to William P. Van Fossan November 8, 1871. He died in 1922. Surviving one daughter, Mrs. Julia E. Johnston of Ottumwa route 4; sons, seven grandchildren, Mrs. Alta Patnick, Elmer E. Johnston, and Myron L. Van Fossan of Ottuma, William E. Johnson of Neb., Mrs. Harold L. Johnston, Oville W. Johnston of Ottumwa rt. 4;24 great-grandchildren and, five great-great grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Johnson's Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. A.D. McClure. Burial will be in the Brooks Cemetery. Gransons will serve as pallbears.
