Milton Roberts, son of Oscar Roberts and Elizabeth Walters, was born January 21, 1848 in Wapello County and departed this life at his home near Ashrove Saturday night July 24, 1926, age 78 yrs. 6 mos and 3 days.
August 6, 1880 he was united in marriage to Clara Greggs and to their union were born three children, namely, Mrs. Lora Andrews of Omaha, Nebraska and Bertha and Clarence of Ashgrove who with their mother are left to mourn the losses of a devoted husband and father. Mr. Roberts was an honest, industrious man and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those who needed assistance. He will be greatly missed and the community in which he lived. He leaves to mourn his death besides his wife and children, two sisters, one brother and many other relatives and friends. The funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J.E. Ward of Unionville. Internment in the Trussell cemetery.
