Newark: A funeral service for Jenoah "Lash, Jimmy and Santa" LaRue, 80, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Fredonia Baptist Church, with Pastor Walt Bruah officiating. Burial follow in Newark Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Jenoah passed away August 27, 2014, at Arlington Care Center. He was born December 30, 1933, in Newark, to the late Noah and Rilla A. (Smith) LaRue.
Jenoah was a 1952 graduate of Granville high school where he played football. He was an Air National Guard Veteran. He was a member of Fredonia Baptist Church, local 341 Union United Steel Worker, and McKean Community Organization PTO. His passion was bowling and playing Santa Claus and Santa's helper during the Christmas season.
He is survived by his wife, a son and daughter, a brother, a sister, three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Gilbert, Don, Art, and Bob; sisters, Hazel Crampton, Francis Adams, and Edna Wright, and a grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Jenoah LaRue, to the Licking County Courthouse Lighting Committee, P.O. Box 292, Newark, Ohio 43058-0292.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.
