Bernard McCrory dies at age 88
Bernard McCrory 88, retired hotel keeper and member of one of the city's oldest and best known families died at 9:15 last night at his home, 205 Front st. For many years he had operated Barney McCrory's Front Street Hotel and Establishment that is still open for business. Mr. McCrory was born in Cambria City on Dec. 14, 1857, a son of John and Margaret McCrory.
His wife the former Bridget Daley died 52 years ago. Surviving are 2 children - Mrs. Mary C. Murphy, 628 Fronheiser St. and Dr, Joseph McCrory, 205 Front St. Three sons are deceased. They were Charles, who died in 1938; James who died in 1923 and William, who died in 1932. Mr McCrory also leaves 5 Grandchildren.
A solemn High Mass of Requiem will be sung at the St. Columba's Catholic Church, of which he was a member, at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
The celebrant will be Mr. McCrory's nephew, Rev. Father Leo McCrory, rector of St Michael's Catholic Church, Pitcairn. Interment will be in the church cemetery under the direction of John A. Conway funeral Home.
