The funeral for Charles Landholm, 69, of Fremont, formerly of
Uehling, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Congregational Church
in Uehling.

He died Thursday, March 8, 2001, in Fremont. He was born Oct. 24,
1931, in rural West Point and grew up on the farm there. He
graduated from high school in Oakland in 1950. On Nov. 8, 1952, he
married Sharon Olson at First Congregational Church in Uehling. He
served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, then returned to
Uehling. He worked at the Mitchell Garage until he was appointed
postmaster of Uehling in 1967. He remained postmaster until his
retirement in 1992. The couple moved to Fremont in 1998.

He was a member of First Congregational Church in Uehling and it's
men's fellowship, and held many offices in that organization. He
also taught Sunday School. He was a member of the Uehling Lion's
Club, the Uehling Fire Department, L. Noble Lund American Legion
Post No. 196 of Uehling and served on the Uehling school board.

Survivors include: his wife, Sharon; two sons, Lynden (and wife,
Cammie) of Topeka, Kan., and Lon (and wife, Cheryl) of Elkhorn; one
daughter, Michelle (Mrs. David) Dam of Arlington; one brother,
Norman (and wife, Dolores) Landholm, of Oakland; three sisters,
Elizabeth Merrit of Keene, N.H., Lois (Mrs. Ted) Swanson of Hudson,
Wis., and Jeanette (Mrs. Larry) Dieckman of Elburn, Ill.; and five
grandchildren.

The Rev. Karl Rist and the Rev. Norman Freund will officiate
Monday's service. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Ludvigsen
Mortuary in Fremont, with family receiving friends at 2-4 p.m., and
Monday one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in
the Baptist Cemetery south of Uehling, with flag presentation by L.
Noble Lund American Legion Post No. 196 of Uehling.

A memorial has been established to First Congregational Church in
Uehling and First Lutheran Church in Fremont.
