Hastings resident, Alice Mae Wynn, 89, died Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Tuesday, September 2, 2014; 9:30 A.M. and Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 2, 2014; 8:30 A.M. – 9:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family or donor’s choice.

Mrs. Wynn was born October 16, 1924 in Iroquois, South Dakota to Henry & Neva (Ferguson) Heitmann. She graduated from DeSmet High School, DeSmet, South Dakota in 1942, and graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Pierre, South Dakota in 1946. Alice worked at the VA Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska from 1946 until 1948 and served in Cadet Nurse Corp during World War II. She married Francis D. Wynn on January 21, 1948 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Hastings, Nebraska; he preceded her in death on November 2, 1992. Alice worked in Hastings at Mary Lanning Healthcare, office of Dr. C. M. Foote, and Hastings Regional Center. After her retirement in 1986, she worked part-time at Good Samaritan Village until 1994. Alice was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis D. Wynn; one grandson, Jonathon; and two sisters, Arleen Swanson and Ellen Heitmann.
