He was born on May 1, 1945 in Port Washington, Wisconsin, a son of the late Robert and Lorraine Hoffman Kendall. Dean was a farm child who lived in several locations in the Port Washington area. He graduated from Port Washington High School in 1963.
On July 15, 1978 Dean married Jean Talbot at St. Peter United Church of Christ in the Town of Rhine. The couple resided in Elkhart Lake since their marriage.
Throughout his life, Dean worked on his family farm, sold feed for MoorMan’s, ran his own farm with wife, Jean and sold fuel oil for Kettle Lakes Co-op and Waldo Oil. His wife preceded him in death on April 11, 2007.
Dean had a very strong faith and it showed in his home church, Christian Life Assembly of God in Plymouth, where he taught Royal Rangers and led an usher team.
Dean’s passion was baseball. He coached softball and baseball for his children for many years. He enjoyed watching the Packers, St. Louis Cardinals, and Brewers, as well as playing with his dog Ernie.
Survivors include his three children, Kristi, of Elkhart Lake, Sarah (special friend Kurt Manke), of Viroqua and Craig (Lauren) Kendall of Mequon; one brother, Dale (Diana) Kendall of Damascus, OR; one sister, Debbie Dimmer of Wausaukee, WI; four brothers-in-law, David Talbot of DeForest, WI, Larry Talbot of Madison, WI, Richard Talbot of Madison, WI and Charles Talbot (special friend Roxanne Postler) of Belleville, WI. Dean is further survived by other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by one infant son, Wesley Thomas Kendall; wife, Jean Kendall; his parents, Robert and Lorraine Kendall; and his in-laws, Sid and Cheryl Talbot.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Christian Life Assembly of God Church in Plymouth. Rev. Richard York, Pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will be in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
