Ruth Alice "Ruthie" Sherman, age 66, of Newville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family after a year long battle with Leukemia. She was born Aug. 14, 1948, in Rock County, WI, the daughter of Phillip and Evelyn (Babcock) Mishleau. Ruthie married Douglas Sherman June 7, 1975, in Milton. Ruthie worked at the Owl's Club in Milton, as head chef at the Stagecoach Inn, Fort Atkinson, Streetwise Menswear at the Janesville Mall, floral designer at Scotties Unlimited in Edgerton, visiting nurse for Mercy as a home health aide in Janesville, Nasco in Fort Atkinson, in the Kids Dept. and secretary for her husband's tree business. She was a member of Woodland Seventh Day Adventist Church, Milton, and served as a deaconess and head greeter. She loved spending time with family and friends, sewing corn pillows as gifts, winters in St. Augustine, FL, putting up Christmas Tree's, 4Th of July, camp meeting, visiting California, and was known for telling a good joke or two. Ruthie is survived by her husband, Douglas Sherman of Newville, WI; children, Woody (Cindy) Sherman of Newville, WI, and Jennifer (Bob) Sajdak of Wausau, WI; grandchildren: Jenna Sherman, Samantha Sherman, Maria Sajdak, Ben Sajdak, and Carson Sajdak; step mother, Elsie Mishleau of Cedar Rapids, IA; aunts, Evelyn Stiff and Olive Thomson; siblings: Herb Babcock, Phillip Mishleau, Dale (Laurie) Mishleau, Ronald " Sleepy " (Jane) Mishleau, Wayne Mishleau, Charles Mishleau, Neil (Darlene) Mishleau; sisters- in-law, Geri Jensen and Mary Sherman; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Bonnie Sherman; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends that were also like family. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harley Mishleau; and sisters-in-law: Karen Babcock, Hazel Mishleau, and Sherry Mishleau.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, at the ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES, Edgerton. Visitation time will be Sunday from 3 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home. Burial at a later date will be in Rock River Cemetery.
