Rosa was born in Bobruisk, Belarus and moved to Minsk with her husband Leonid to raise their family. Rosa survived the hardships of World War II and many other adversities under the Soviet rule thereafter. In 1980, seeking a better life and freedom, Rosa and her family immigrated to the United States where they were able to enjoy economic, political and religious freedoms.

Rosa was always known as a strong, positive and upbeat woman who completely dedicated herself to her family. She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed cooking delicious food, picking fruits, making jam, reading, and taking long walks in the park, but what she prized most was caring for her children and grandchildren and spending time with her family and friends."
