STARKEL - Lydia Starkel, 525 E. Dewey. Age 72, died Feb. 21, 1958, at McLaren General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Monday, February 24, 1958, from Groves & Co. Memorial Chapel, Garfield at Third Ave. Rev. Albert Wienbrauck officiating. Buriel in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs Starkel will lie in state at the Groves & Co Memorial Chapel. Death was due to complications following and illness of 10 days. She was born in Germany, March 11, 1885, and lived in Flint for the last 35 years, coming from Walla Walla, Washington. She married John Starkel, Sept. 19, 1907, in Germany. Mr. Starkel preceeded her in death, March 21, 1956. Surviving are: daughters, Mrs. Lillian Costanzo, Mrs Pauline Bartkowiak, both of Flint, Mrs, Marie Johnson of Oak Park, Michigan; 6 sons, John Starkel of Vassar,Emmanuel Starkel, William Starkel, Harold Starkel, all of Flint, Dan Starkel of the U.S. Air Force in Germany, Paul Starkel of Detroit; 20 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
