Mrs. John D. Compton, 57 years old, of Norwood, died at her home at 8 o'clock Monday night. Mrs. Compton was a daughter of the late Mr. Tyler Dye and Mrs. Bettie Jasper Dye. She was prominent in the Norwood community, having a large number of friends and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her. Funeral services were to be held this afternoon at the residence with interment to follow at the family lot in the Somerset cemetery. Rev. L.T. Wells and Rev. W.A. Reese were to have charge of the services. Besides her husband, Mrs. Compton is survived by one son, Elzie Compton; two stepsons, Curtis and Jason Compton, of this county; and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Ransom Adams of Ansel and Mrs. John Altrickler of Dayton, Ohio.
