OBITUARY
Benjamin Corbin was born in Huntington County, PA, February 19, 1807. He departed this life Saturday, January 27, 1900, having reached the great age of 92 years, 11 months and 6 days. He was married to Miss Margaret M. Park February 21, 1830. From Pennsylvania the family moved to Ohio in 1834; from thence to Webster County, Iowa, in 1853, and to Story County in 1866. At the age of 30 years Mr. Corbin united with the Lutheran church and remained a consistent member to the end of life. A few months ago he was bereft of his wife with whom he had lived for nearly 70 years; and about a month ago of his son John. He was longing to depart and to be with Christ and at last his prayer was answered. He leaves to mourn his departure one son and seven daughters, fifty-nine grand children, sixty-four great grand children and two great great grand children. Funeral services were held at the Johnson Grove Lutheran Church, Monday, January 29, 1900, and were conducted by Rev. A. B. Shrader. Interment was held in the cemetery near the church. Mr. Corbin was gathered to his fathers in peace and was buried in good old age.
