Jack Addy, 84, of Stuart passed away Sept 10 [2014] at Treasure Coast Hospice.

He was born in Sheffield, England on Sept 24, 1929.

He was a child in England during the bombings of WW II and remembered that vividly.

He served in the British Army.

He came to the US in 1956 and settled in Stuart, proudly becoming a naturalized citizen.

During his life he had many jobs and careers including his business installing glass and mirrors in many homes and businesses around Stuart. He was a long time member of the Elks Club in Stuart.

He is survived by his wife, Florette Addy; his daughter Vicki Brace of Palm Bay; his step-daughters Paulette (Jim) Beurrier and Suzanne (John) Smith both of Stuart; his grandchildren, Angie, Tim, Kevin; step-grandchildren Tim, Joy, Faith, Josh, and Katie; and several great-grandchildren and his ex-wife, Mother, Dorothy Greenlees.

He was preceded in death by his son Trevor.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 13 at New Beginnings Community Church, Palm City.

Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice or the Elks Club.

Arrangements are made with Martin Funeral Home in Stuart.

In 1996 Florette M. Choiniere married Jack Addy. They had known each other for some years. She and Jack did a lot of traveling in their early marriage. They went all over the country, visiting her brother in Arizona and her birthplace in Canada. They saw Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon. They also traveled to Jack's birthplace in England and visited Paris and London.
