2476 RACHEL CORSON, daughter of Levi and Margaret
(Hand) Corson, was born May 2, 1778. She married, Sept. 16,
1816, 2161 Parmenas Corson, the son of Joseph. The account of
their family is recorded under the history of Parmenas.

Per 300 Years of the Corson Family in America Volume 2, P 67

2161 PARMENAS CORSON, the eldest son of Joseph the
first and Rachel Corson, was born Jan. 23, 1760. On the 16th of
Apr., 1777, he with 23 others "did nominate, chose and appoint
James Willets, Captain," as well as the other officers of the second
company of "ye Cape May Battalion" of militia. During the
Revolutionary War he served as a private under the officers he
helped to elect. Craig's History of Petersburg says of him: "He
was a member of the Governor's Council (now State Senate) in
1796-99; 1801-05; Justice of the Peace, 1796-1801; Freeholder,
1829-32 and 1834." Parmenas Corson married three times. His
first wife was 1528 Rachel Willets, daughter of James, whom he
married Oct. 26, 1778. She was bom Aug. 9, 1762. Two children
were born to this union:

21611 Amos Corson, born Aug. 4, 1779;
21612 Anthea Corson, born Feb. 2, 1784.

Rachel (Willets) Corson died July 14, 1801, from a tumor in
her back and is buried in the Friends Graveyard at Fifth and
Arch Streets, Philadelphia, Pa. Parmenas married, second, Rox-
anna (Griffing) Benezett, a widow, on Oct. 18, 1804. To them
one son was born:

21613 Albert Griffing Corson, born Apr. 23, 1806.

The second wife, Roxanna Corson, died May 17, 1806. The
third wife of Parmenas was 2476 Rachel Corson, the daughter of
Levi and Margaret (Hand) Corson. They were married Sept.
15, 1816. Rachel Corson was born May 2, 1778, and died on
May 1, 1872. Parmenas Corson died Feb. 22, 1843. Parmenas,
his second wife, Roxanna, and third wife, Rachel Corson, are
buried in the Cemetery of the Second Baptist Church, adjoining
the Seaside Cemetery at Palermo, Cape May County.
