LOUP CITY — Ruth A. Adams, 91, of Loup City died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at Rose Lane Nursing Home in Loup City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Loup City with the Rev. Heidi Revelo officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City.

Visitation is from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City.

Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church or Rose Lane Nursing Home.

Mrs. Adams was born Feb. 21, 1910, at Loup City to Charles and Amanda (Barber) Quartz. She attended school at Oak Creek School north of Loup City.

She married Vernon C. Adams on April 30, 1934, in Kearney. They lived one year in Ansley before moving to a farm in the Loup City area. She was employed by Sacred Heart Hospital for several years. She lived at the present farm since 1945. She and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1984.

She entered Rose Lane Nursing Home on March 16, 2001.

She was a past 4-H leader, member of the Busy Bells Extension Club, the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Church Circle, and United Methodist Women and Birthday Club.

She enjoyed gardening, her flowers and pets. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, embroidery work and playing cards.

Survivors include her son, Ronald of Panama City, Fla.; one daughter, Cleo (Mrs. Don) Phillips of Loup City; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, Nora and Fern and a brother, Alonzo.
