Funeral Services Held For Alonzo Quartz, 55

Alonzo F. Quartz, 55, who died Sunday, April 16, after a tractor accident near Clearfield, Iowa, was buried in Evergreen cemetery her [sic] last Thursday. Funeral services were conducted at the Steele Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. S. E. Oakes of the First Baptist church of Loup City.
Ned Conger was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Fritz Leschinsky. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased: Glenn, Orrin, Richard, Harold, Boyd, and Jim Larson [sic].
Alonzo F. Quartz, son of Charles and Mahala Quartz, was born at Loup City, July 25, 1894. At the time of his death he was 55 years, seven months, and 11 days of age. He was raised in the Methodist church.
He married Blanche Necklace [sic] in Jun, 1920; she died in December, 1921. On Feb. 26, 1924 he married Anne Larson [sic] at Greeley, Nebr. To them was born a daughter, Lois Elaine, on July 21, 1929; she died at the age of 12.
After finishing the eighth grade at Loup City, Mr. Quartz farmed, ran the county maintainer, and did carpentry and plumbing. The Quartzes moved to their new home near Clearfield in February, 1944. They had remodeled the home throughout during their residence.
He is survived by his wife; his aged father, Charles Quartz, of Loup City; and three sisters, Nora Weehler of Excelsior Springs, Mo., Fern Larson [sic] of Clearfield, Iowa, and Ruth Adams of Loup City.
