Funeral Services for David Franklin “Jack” Daniel, 86, of Williston, SC will be held three pm Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Winfield Heights Baptist Church with Reverend Jamie Wootten officiating. Burial will be at the Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road with military honors accorded. The family will receive friends from one pm until the time of service on Sunday at the church, the Deacons of Winfield Heights Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Memorials may be given to Winfield Heights Baptist Church Building Fund 315 Chester St., Williston, SC 29853 or Gideons International at www.gideons.org. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and to give a special thank you to Halcyon Hospice, Rebecca, Chaplin Rick Boland, Mattison Bolen, Martha Childs, Rhonda Bolen and Kelsey Mundy for their kindness and care shown to them during this difficult time. Jack passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014 at his home.
Born in Honea Path, SC; he was a son of the late James Thomas Daniel, Sr. and Tabbie Lou Jenkins Daniel. Jack was married to the late Peggy Jo Duncan Daniel. He retired from E.I. DuPont at the Savannah River Plant, was a member of Winfield Heights Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was a member of the Men’s Sunday School Class, the Woodmen of the World and the American Legion Post #75. He was a US Army Veteran having served during the Korean War.
Survivors include his daughters, Debbie (Mike) Rhodus of Hickory, NC, Hope (Joey) Greene of Williston, SC, Mandy (Thad) Parr of Hendersonville, NC; grandchildren, Daniel (Jennifer) Rhodus of Cary, NC, David Rhodus of St. Thomas, USVI, Sara (Ricky) Vereen of Hickory, NC, Matthew Greene of Summerville, SC, Rachel (Andrew) DeMartine of Matthews, NC, Thomas (Kellie) Parr of Hendersonville, NC, Rebekah Parr of Charlotte, NC; great-grandchildren, Sierra Vereen, Savanna Vereen, Locke Pace, Connor Rhodus, Hanna DeMartine, Paityn Greene; sisters, Creabelle Griffith of Gainesville, GA, Hazel Fields of Belton, SC; brother, W.C. “Buck” Daniel of Williston, SC; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Louise D. Arflin, Glenola D. Evatt; brothers, James T. Daniel, Jr. and Alvin O. Daniel.
