Mrs. Mattie Mills, 81, 105 N. Atkinson, died Friday afternoon at her home after a long illness.
Funeral services are pending at the Ballard Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mills was born Sept. 10, 1889 in Organ City, NM, to Mr. and Mrs. William Foster. She lived her entire life in the Roswell and Chaves County area.
She and John J. Mills were married in 1902 in El Paso, Tex. Mr. Mills died March 31, 1928.
Mrs. Mills was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Barbara (Bobbie) Donahue, Mrs. Ted (Nell) Wade, both of Roswell; a son, Col. Eugene Mills, Newark, Del.; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandaughter.
