Davis--At the home of Mrs. Kelley, in Cherokee, Jan. 19, Mrs. Aliva Davis, aged about 40 years.
The story of her life is one of toil and often great hardships. Some years ago she became a Christian and as far as known endeavored to deport herself as such with those about her. Funeral took place from Mrs. Kelley's home where Mrs. Davis had received so many kindnesses at the hands of Mrs. Kelley who had known her for years. She had been ailing for several days. A few words passed between her and Mr. Kelley which revealed that Mrs. Davis realized that she was near death and in a moment all was over. The body was laid to rest in the Cherokee cemetery Wednesday the 20 inst.
