Luther Leon Harris, 81, of Hickman, Ky., died 11:58 p.m. Oct. 8, 2007, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
He was born Jan. 5, 1926, in Akron, Ohio, son of the late Gentry and Virgie (Sharp) Harris. He was a self-employed business man, farmer and land owner and was a member of West Hickman Baptist Church. He was past president of the Hickman Riding Club, the Hickman Country Club, the Moose Club and the Jaycees.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Harris; his son, Luther Leon “Buddy” Harris Jr. of DePauw, Ind.; three daughters, Dorothy Lee Harris, Marcia Minton and Mickie Harris, all of Hickman; two brothers, Gentry Harris of Clinton, Ky., and Charles M. Harris of New Lenox, Ill.; three sisters, Mildred Minton of Hickman, Brenda Curtsinger of Fort Myers, Fla., and Virginia Brinkley of Lancaster, Calif.; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Anna Adams; and his son, Cecil Glenn Harris.
