Roy Floyd Kaufman, 71, Rural Valley RD 1, died Monday, May 22, 1989 in St. Francis Hospital, Pittsburgh.

A son of Charles W. and Edith Blystone Kaufman, he was born Sept. 14, 1917, in Elderton.

Mr. Kaufman was a member of St. Thomas United Church of Christ.

He was employed for 13 years in Wells Brothers Coal Mines since 1957 had been owner/operator of the Kaufman Dairy Farm.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Clara D. Reefer Kaufman; a son, Ronald N., Rural Valley RD 1; three daughters: Mrs. Alexander (Marie) Boyer, Jr., New Bethlehem RD 1; Betty McCausland, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Maynard (Helen) Milliron, Jr., Elderton; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers: Miles and Kenneth, Rural Valley RD 1; two sisters: Mrs. George (Virginia) Slease, Dayton RD 1; Mrs. Reed (Ruth) Verner, Rural Valley RD 1.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald on Jan. 2, 1951; a brother, Glenn.

Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Clark Chapel, Elderton, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. August Thalman will officiate with interment in Elderton Cemetery.
