Donald G. Blaney, 85, of Russellville, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2009 at St Mary's Regional Medical Center.
The son of James and Elsie Anna Hazel Blaney, he was born October 7, 1923 in Orillia, Ontario, Canada.

He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran of World War II. Donald was a Portrait Artist and was retired from the Ford Motor Company Art Department. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the Rotary Club, Life time member of the Rogers-Rye VFW Post 2283, member of the American Legion of Russellville and former member of the River Valley Harmonizers. He enjoyed anything dealing with baseball.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Beth Szatkowski and Josephine Peters; brother, David A. Blaney; granddaughter, Erin Blaney; two great grandsons, Jacob and Ethan Blaney.

Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Sylvia (Jackson) Blaney of Russellville; Four children, Donna B. Park & husband David of Dover, Mark S. Blaney of Russellville, Michael J. Blaney of Russellville, Martin L. Blaney & wife Penny of Russellville; ten grandchildren, Timothy Park & Ruth Vosmek of San Rafeal, CA, Kenneth Park of Long Beach, CA, Charity Park of Russellville, Walker Blaney of Russellville, Andrew Blaney & Camille of Russellville, Christopher Blaney of Russellville, Robin Blaney of Sonoma, CA, Martin Blaney of San Rafael, CA, Dillon Blaney & Angele of Russellville, Sarah Blaney & Tim Smith of Russellville; six great grandchildren; two siblings, James Blaney of Altoona, Iowa, Josephine Peters of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Ruth Merkle & husband James East Lansing, Michigan.

Arrangements were under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
