Obituary - The Glasgow Times Jan 16, 1947
The Death December 8 of Mr Fred Clements at his New York City Residence

Mr Clements, a printer and former resident of Glasgow, was a son of the late Dr A J Clements. Sister, Miss Carrie Clements, is the only surviving member of the family, resident of New York City. Fred Clements was once employed by The (Glasgow) Times. The Clements property here (the old home place) lies at the intersection of the Jacksonway and the new Cave City highway, west and north of these respective roads, and is one of the most valuable pieces of property in Glasgow. Many unsuccessful attempts have been made in recent years to purchase this valuable holding. Only a few months ago a prominent local citizen was in New York City to buy, but met with rebuff.

Fred was never married; his other three siblings were never married either. The Clements family plot according to the caretaker at the Glasgow Cemetery shows from the records that seven grave sites were purchased. He also told me that the plots were small and you would not have been able to bury seven. I assume that the Clements plot were for Dr & Mrs. A J Clements and their four children, purchasing an extra plot for space. No gravestones were ever erected. A search in the deeds needs to be done to see what happened to this property after 1947. Possibly it was deeded over to Carrie or sold. If it was deeded to her, then a search needs to be made as to who it was deeded over to next. That would help to possibly establish her death date and maybe give her residence. At the time of her brother's death she would have been 69 and still unwed. Her brother was her only relative in 1947. She was a school teacher. Written by Laura J Stewart

LEGAL STEP IS TAKEN FOR SALE CLEMENTS PROPERTY
It is understood that legal actions have been instituted that will eventually force the sale of the Clements property on North Jacksonway just north of the city limits. This is one of the most valuable and one of the largest acreages in the city.
