He passed away in 1891 in Owens Cross Roads, Madison County Alabama USA.
We don't know for sure where he & his wife Mahala are buried.
We rely on family stories to guess; sadly even today family members are buried without a burial marker.

According to family members John W. may be buried in Patterson Cemetery that no longer exist or Richard "Dick" Glover Cemetery which is on private property & overgrown & is considered a "Dead Cemetery" as the tombstone & marker stones may no longer be there.
We know they are buried in the Owens Cross Roads area, probably in the Cave Springs Area as they owned property in that area. Please see below:

What I do know is that my grandfather, Edd Baker told me that John W Baker (his great grandfather) was buried in Patterson Cemetery but I have been unable to find it, it is possible that the name changed over the years as they do. I also believe that it might be possible that John W and his wife, Mahala and John's parents Absalom and Eleanor Baker are buried in Richard Glover Cemetery which is located off Low Gap Road in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama in a field among trees, it had been cleared off by the owners but they have since let it grow up again... I was there once and they didn't seem keen on anyone going into the cemetery. I believe that they might be buried here because it was in this area that Absalom and Jonathan Glover purchased land so in essence this area would be the first homeplace for the Bakers and Glovers.
