Mrs. Sarah Brister Gill
Mrs. S. B. Gill was born April 15, 1820; was married to Alexander Gill in December 1834, and died Feb. 21, 1908. Thus 87 years, 11 months and 7 days marked the length of her earthly pilgrimage. Sixty of those years she was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist church. To the Lost Cause, in her young womanhood, she gave her husband and two sons. One son, J. A. Gill, remains. Mrs. Gill was the mother of Mrs. N. Eitel, of this city.
Mrs. Gill died in the Fair River neighborhood and was buried at Union on Washington’s birthday.
“Friend after friend departs.
Who hath not lost a friend.
There is no union here of hearts
That finds not here an end.”
