Mr. Dempsey Coe, age 62, Lyons, died Wednesday, October 28, 1998 after a brief illness.

The native and lifelong resident of Toombs County was a retired auto mechanic. He was the former owner and operator of D.& L. Garage in Lyons and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Edenfield Coe, Lyons; two daughters, Janet Hester, Rockingham, North Carolina, Tammy Marie Osborne, Lyons; one sister, Marie Branch, Winter Haven, Florida; two brothers, James and Mason Coe, both of Lyons; four grandchildren, Andrew Bryant, Ashley Raines, both of Rockingham, Dempsey Wheeler and Johnny Kendall Osborne, both of Lyons; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 30, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Murchison Funeral Home with the Reverend B.L. Horne officiating. Interment was in the Old Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Larry Wilkes, Johnny Griggers, Danny Coleman, Jack Thompson, Corbitt Mason, and Randy Edenfield.
