She was born in Liberty, a daughter of Elden and Irma Thomas Rhodes.
She moved here after her marriage to Elbridge Genthner in 1940.
For 27 years, Mrs. Genthner was employed at G.T.E. Sylvania in Waldoboro, and retired as an inspector.
She was a member of Damariscotta Baptist Church, the Pythian Sisters and enjoyed hand work and all-day shopping sprees.
A son, Deering E. Genthner, died Sept. 5.
Surviving, besides her husband, are a daughter, Irma Prentice of Damariscotta; a brother, Milford Rhodes of Belfast; three sisters, Eldena Larrabee of Searsport, Marilyn Banks of Belfast and Cecile Gifford of Florida; a foster son, Viron Hathaway of Bowdoinham; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Strong Funeral Home, with Rick Newell officiating. Burial will follow in Dunbar Cemetery, Nobleboro.
