George married Barbara Gall on Dec. 24, 1845 in Güldendorf. She was born May 9, 1827 in Worms, Beresan District of South Russia and died March 5, 1905 in Yankton County, South Dakota.
George then married Margaret (ha) Gall. She died in 1912. Nothing else is known for her.
George and Barbara immigrated to the US arriving in New York, Oct. 23, 1901 on the S.S. Kronpriz Wilhelm, sailing from Breman, Germany. When he family immigrated they had no longer lived in Friedrichstal Colony but Lichtenfeld Colony.
After George's death, Peter and his son George went to Mason City, Iowa, and returned the body by train. For some unknown reason, a second death certificate was issued in Menno, South Dakota and was listed as Oct. 18, 1914. There is no cemetery marker.
