Geraldine K. Baird, age 95, of Marshfield, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Bethel Center, Arpin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Monday, August 18, 2014 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hewitt. Father Jesse Burish will officiate. Visitation will be held from 8:30 AM until the time of services at the church in Hewitt. Entombment will be at the Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield at a later date.
Geraldine Kathryn Hauser was born November 11, 1918 to John and Mary (Bell) Hauser in the Town of Woodville in Calumet County, Wisconsin. She received her education from St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Woodville. Geraldine and William Olander were married November 8, 1947 at St. Johns Catholic Church in Woodville. She then moved to Milwaukee and worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at the Children’s Hospital. William passed away February 1, 1980. Geraldine was joined in marriage to Richard Baird on March 9, 1987 in Las Vegas, NV. She then moved from Milwaukee to the Township of Richfield. She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Hewitt and the Catholic Knights.
Geraldine is survived by her stepchildren: Donald (Nancy) Wunrow of Angola, IN, Gary Baird of Marshfield, Douglas (Janet) Baird of Arpin, Dennis (Shirley Stangl) Baird of Marshfield, Jerilyn (LeRoy) Budtke of Hewitt, and Bonnie (John) Holzbauer of Columbus, OH; and a special nephew, Danny (Janet) Hauser of Chilton. She is further survived by her step grandchildren: Jeff Wunrow, Kristin (Craig) McGee, Dawn (Todd) Hookstadt, Derek (Amanda) Baird, Dana Fischer, Dan (Lynette) Baird, Darwin Baird, Amy (David) Peterson, Ben (Erika) Budtke, Jeff (Penny) Holzbauer, David Holzbauer, Tammy (Ron) Haffenbredl, Janine (Jeff) Steinke, Julianne (Bob) Elsen, and Leslie (Dan) Osep; many step great grandchildren, and sisters-in-law, Joyce Hauser and Marie Hauser of Chilton.
Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, William Olander, her second husband, Richard Baird, her brothers: Ervin, Robert, Donald, David, Harold, and Oscar; and her sister, Doris Dohr.
