Frank Calhoon, 314 Seventh Avenue SW, who lived in LeMars about 60 (sic 80) years, died February 13, at the home of his son James, in LeMars, after a protracted illness. Mr. Calhoon was born in Illinois, February 16, 1861, and came to LeMars in the early 80s. He was married in Council Bluffs in 1879 to Marie Willis, who preceded him in death.
Five children survive: John, of Las Vegas, Nevada; Frank, Jr., of LeMars; Mrs. Joe Sutton, LeMars; Dorothy Wilmes and James, of LeMars. He is also survived by two brothers, Roy and Hiram Calhoon, of LeMars, and two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Buchter and Mrs. Al Howes, of Merrill.
Funeral services were held at the Wiltgen Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. S. A. Jones officiating, and burial was in the City Cemetery.
