Death Takes John Hieb, 86
John Hieb, of 504 E. Harold st. passed away yesterday in a Stockton
hospital. He was 86 years of age.
Mr. Hieb had resided in Lodi since 1948. A native of Neudorf, South
Russia, he came to America in 1899 and settled in McClusky, N.D. He
farmed there intil 1936 when he retired, and moved to Lodi 12 years
later.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Christina Hieb, Lodi and eight children. They
are John Hieb of Goodrich, N.D.; Gus Hieb and Katy Dockter, both of
San Francisco; Mrs. Lydia Frey of Lodi; Mrs. Martha Landenberger of
Sacramento; Mrs. Pauline Bonnet, Bismarck, N.D.; Mrs. Carrie Bauer,
Minneapolis, Minn.; and Mrs. Christina Glasser of Ox Bow, Saskatchewan,
Canada.
The deceased was the brother of August Hieb, McClusky, N.D.; Fred Hieb
of Bismarck; Wilhelm Hieb of St Paul, Minn; Adam Hieb of Jamestown,
N.D.; and Mrs. Magdalena Feickert of Minneapolis.
Also surving are 37 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the chapel of the
East-Pine Funeral Home, with Rev. E. J. Roleder of the Emanuel American
Lutheran Church officiating.
The body will be sent by the East-Pine Funeral Home to McClusky, N.D.,
for burial in the family plot in the Zion Reformed Church Cemetery.
