Al McCarthy's Fish Story
"Al McCarthy is developing into a prize fish historian, from the annexed extract in the Walker Lake Bulletin describing the achievements of a party of Hawthorne anglers on a recent trip to Silver Lake. Dan Reed proved that he was the most skilled caster. He made on cast 75 feet behind him, hooked a grasshopper, whipped the hook into the stream and landed a fine trout, all in one breath.
Mark Aaroe was the camp baker and his slapjacks came in handy for breakblocks {sic}on the way home."
